Since Gerry Hogan wound down his Newbury Steel Guitar Festivals, the Irish Steel Guitar Association took up the challenge and organised a similar festival of their own in the Drogheda area of Southern Ireland.  The festivals always feature a well-known US player, some great Irish players, and one or two faces from the  Newbury circuit.  Gerry Hogan, Derek Thurlby and I have enjoyed playing together, with our old friends Bernie Taylor (bass), Bob Pierce (Drums) and Butch Mahr (vocals) and wife Carol (bass on my sets). During our second appearance someone coined the name ' The Travelling Newburys" - which has stuck with us ever since.
